Alexandra Waldersten

Alexandra helps the lonely marketing manager

Meet Alexandra Waldersten, strategist and project manager at Smarkify.

“I've worked as a marketing manager before, and I understand the value of getting support with the right marketing efforts.”

Today Alexandra works as a project manager and strategist for Smarkify. This means she has access to a range of experts in SEO, graphic design, copywriting and CRM as she sets marketing plans for clients and orders inputs for upcoming campaigns.

It hasn't always looked that way. Previously, Alexandra worked as the sole marketing manager for large Swedish companies, which meant that she was responsible for all operations. It covered everything from overall campaign planning to layout, advertising, SEO and conversion.

“I learned a lot. But it's a stressful role and often the rest of the business doesn't understand the marketer's very broad task.”

The background makes her a sharp adviser for people sitting in the same seat. With sole responsibility for large growth targets and high expectation of broad communication.

Challenges develop the customer

As a project manager and strategist, Alexandra helps other companies draw up a project plan, analyze their current situation, what they want to achieve and then set clear strategies for the work. She brings out resources and gets campaigns to reach their set goals.

“I do the work together with the client. They are always experts in their field. But sometimes we see needs that they haven't discovered, and then it's important to be able to challenge them so they can evolve and take the next step in their marketing.”

For example, most companies want quick action and strong lead generation. However, inbound marketing helps clients work long-term and strengthen their position in the market over time. Then you need to analyze the target audience, customize content that arouses their interest and find the right channels to reach out.

“Many people don't understand how effective work is when sales and marketing work together. Instead of investing in scattered efforts with cold calls, they can strategically process customers. We help coordinate the work and find the right efforts for both quick wins and a growing customer base.”

Expertise from many specialists

Keeping up to date with the latest digital solutions is difficult for a single marketer.

“Just a few years ago, the AI solutions or social channels that exist today did not exist. The target audience is constantly changing locations, algorithms are updated and it can be difficult to keep up with digital marketing. Therefore, it is a luxury to always have access to specialists in the right field when we carry out a campaign.”

Unlike when Alexandra worked in-house, today she has the opportunity to work with more clients from different industries within B2B and B2C.

“We have customers who offer very different services and products. It's broad and fun and you get to learn a lot of things.”

Since the agency is not very large, all customer contacts become personal. It is not uncommon for Alexandra to become an obvious part of the team outside the customers.

“I have so much fun at work! It's fun to grow customers. At Smarkify we never grade our customers as big or small, we deliver 100% value regardless. And I like that.”
